This cathedral is the most eloquent monument of the medieval city ans Christian. In the XI th century, it built in the location of early Christian buildings then transformed in the next century. One of its attraction comes from the presence of antique vestiges reused during his construction as show it the blocks of Roman architecture in the foundations of the bedhead. His sobriety and its massive aspect marked by few openings. Its vaults, its bows, and his sculptured decoration inspired by the classic art are so many elements which reveal a very beautiful example of the Provençal Romanesque art. Of the reconstruction of the XII th century, we shall hold the beautiful octagonal dome on truncks presenting the symbols of four evengelists : the angel of Mathieu, Luc's beef, Jean's eagle and Marc's lion as well as the vaults of the nave and the collateral.

The convent of the cathedral, XI th and XII th centuries, with its openwork galleries of bows carried by small columns and capitals, was in the heart of the building which accommodated the canons. Inside, among the concise elements, the fragment of chancel, the marble sarcophagus of the IV th century represeenting 12 apostles, the cross with double face (Christ and Virgin). More enigmatic still, an engraving of a head with horns and bacchantes, in the center of a girder of door.
