The CLAEP (Laic Center of Reception and Educational Popular) is an association of law 1901 non-profit and affiliated to the League of the Education was declared in Prefecture of Vaucluse December 20th, 1985. The association administers and livens up the Departmental Center of Reception and Rural Animation > > to Rasteau, building the Departmental Council of Vaucluse of which is the owner. As such the association :

• Apply the conventional prescriptions of the Department of Vaucluse.
• Watch the implementation of the necessary human, material and financial resources, as well as the required functional and structural evolutions.
• Propose within the framework of the agreement which binds to the Association A.V.V. for the attention of every public, an eclectic cultural programming: music, Theater, Dance, Exhibition,Reading, Conferences, Debates ......
• Arouses and implements operational partnerships, synergies ave the cultural structures and the associative fabric
• Reception of the artists in residence with presentation of showsor exhibitions in the direction of the general public, more particularly the young people and of the school world
• Introduce are multicultural and multidisciplinary educational interventions, in the form of studios, of internships of training initiatives, and other.
• Assure the cultural and territorial development in rural areas

Our convictions commit us in one approach of actor of the local cultural development. Our act, in proper noun or through the partnership with Alive Arts in Vaucluse is translated by: a programming every public and school, the reception in artists' residence, cinema, diverse activities of leisure activities. We promote the brilliance of the center and the contacts with the population, in particular by favoring its action in the direction of the youth club within the framework of Copavo. We encourage and allow the realization of projects (contributions in industries > >, logistics); and let us give places (institutional partnerships, valuation of projects)

The association is inspired by values of democracies, secularism, and Educational Popular of her founders, in which she aims to be faithful. It is opened to all, in the respect for the individual convictions and the independence towards the political parties and the denominational groupings; it refrains itself from any political propaganda and from any religious proselytism. In a departmental, intermunicipal and local perimeter the action of the association addresses the populations of any social conditions and any ages (children, teenagers, school, grown-up and elderly).

In 1930 a couple of primary school teachers of the village of Rasteau creates a laic association, and it is in the road so opened, that will make a commitment boys, girls, are men, women who will bring their intelligence, their spirit of creativity, their very diverse personalities....

The Laic Association of the Souco of Rastèu is a theater company which near the 60s traveled Vaucluse by spreadingthe Provençal culture. It is in the 70s when is created the association rural Home of the young people and educational popular on the initiative of a teacher at the school of Rasteau. Localized in the school complex of the village, the activities of the association articulated mainly around studios theater aimed bound for the pupils.

Very fast the association takes off with a more and more important company of the young people. Premises becoming too small and not adapted due to its use, the Laic Home decides to develop the construction project of a community center in rural areas.

The Departmental Center of Animation arose from a long history : project conceived by the Laic Home in 1978, i at once adopted by the Federation of the Laic Works to place it in the lineage of those of Beaumes of Venice and Isle-sur Sorgues, whereas the City Council of Rasteau purchased a ground where he could be implanted. An architect was needed. Without knowing if the project would succeed one day, an architect agreed to realize the plan with the cooperation of the members of the Home of Rasteau, the persons in charge of the laic associations of the Canton and the league of the Education of Vaucluse. An idea, a ground, a plan. We then turned to the Departmental Council of Vaucluse.

It is in 1980 when this one to build himself Centers him Departmental of Animation and Accommodation of Rasteau, such as we had designed him, this, when will be acquired the participations of the Region, the DDCS and the Family allowance fund. The Building is born in December, 1985. The Departmental Council of Vaucluse will attribute the management of this building by limited-time convention to the association CLAEP, Laic Center of Welcome and Educational Popular formerly Rural Home of the Young people declared to the Sub-prefecture on December 26th, 1985.

The Department of Vaucluse and the City hall of Rasteau have sign a long lease of 99 years assuring the financial assistance of the municipality by the contribution of the ground. The association and the Department are bound by a three-year agreement of objectives.
